What does a DevOps Engineer do?

Our DevOps Engineers are can-doers who lead on the deployment, management and maintenance of new cloud based Cyber Security products. They work closely with other engineers to deliver new features, products and services to Nominet’s customers.

Take ownership

Take the lead on the security, reliability and stability of cloud deployments. Ensure best practice is adhered to by the rest of the team.

Be a plate-spinner

Confidently handle whatever comes your way: from planning resources, troubleshooting live issues and providing high quality customer support to investigating new technologies. Be a stickler for quality, all the time. All without needing to be told.

Build collaborative relationships with colleagues and other teams to deliver real value for our customers, ensuring new products and features are deployed in a timely and effective manner. Help tech and non-tech colleagues by being crystal clear and easy to follow – face-to-face and in writing.

Maintain excellent standards
You’re here to deliver the implementation of robust, maintainable, standards-compliant configuration and infrastructure in an agile working environment.

The skills and experience they bring...

Excellent knowledge of cloud platforms – ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS) - and experience of delivering deployment of products into the cloud.

They love communicating to build collaborative and productive working relationships with colleagues.

They have a can-do attitude, drive and passion: someone who’s prepared to get the job done, no matter what it takes.

They know their way around software such as Ansible automation and version control systems like Subversion or Git.
