What does a QA Analyst do?

Part of a growing, successful and well-established QA Team, our Quality Assurance Coordinators prepare, execute and close multiple test activities at a time, often across various areas of our business. The team is moving to the introduction of automated testing and you will have the opportunity to support this move.

Supported by technical experts around you, you work closely with both business and IT teams and you will be contributing to the delivery of a vibrant digital future. Nominet is a rapidly growing business and we use our expertise running and protecting critical internet infrastructure to tackle cyber threats and build tomorrow’s digital infrastructure.

What we expect of a QA Analyst

Own preparation, scheduling and execution of automated and manual system/functional/regression test activities.

Own preparation, review and prioritisation of user acceptance test cases.

Follow up on QA project/release schedule delivery and coordinates execution of user acceptance test cases (UAT) with business testers.

Own bug reporting, tracking progress of fixes and retesting/confirmation of implemented fixes (JIRA).

Carry out necessary amendments to existing regression test scripts and prepare new regression test scripts.

Initiate and prioritise regression test scripts execution to ensure relevant test coverage is maintained and risks are mitigated (JIRA).

Initiate and follow through to a successful conclusion process of business requirements review to determine readiness for QA and Dev activities to commence.

Work with business managers to arrange and coordinate UAT teams.

Work closely with software release manager to coordinate testing timing, and report on test progress.

Contribute to Change Advisory Board and Go-NoGo meetings by providing initial assessment of overall QA outcome to determine fitness for deployment to Production.

Initiate test closure activities (lessons learnt, test documentation finalisation and QA templates update recommendation).


The skills and experience you bring…

Experience in preparing, executing and closing various QA test activities

Experience in implementing automated test frameworks and maintaining automated suites of tests.

You will relish working in all kinds of ways with all kinds of people in cross-functional teams. You gladly juggle and multitask across lots of strands of work with varying priorities.

You will love working with new computer applications and quickly develop an understanding of them.

You can provide guidance and share best practice outside of the QA team.

You know your way around Linux and are keen to develop an understanding of the Internet, Domain Name System (DNS), and Registry Systems.
